The Ely Sports & Social Club, formerly known as Ely British legion, has deep roots in Cardiff’s community life.

Although the original building closed in 2018, the club was re-established later that year under new management, ensuring that Ely’s tradition of social sport and friendly gatherings continues. Today, it stands as a testament to local pride, teamwork, and the power of community spirit

To provide a friendly, safe, and affordable place where local residents can meet, relax, and enjoy a wide range of sporting and social activities. We’re proud to be a non-profit, member-run organisation — every penny raised goes back into improving the club and supporting the community.

Members and guests can enjoy a great mix of facilities, including: Fully licensed members’ bar serving draught beers, spirits, and soft drinks, lounge area with darts, pool, snooker, dominoes, cribbage, and chess, Regular live entertainment nights, quizzes, and charity events.
